Just to back up what has already been mentioned, this chair is really excellent. I got one for my wife, who LOVES it. I thought it would be lame, but it REALLY DOES give a great massage. At this price it's an outstanding value, IMHO.

I was at the mall a while back and I walked by some store where a young woman was test driving one of these chairs. She seemed to really enjoy it. All the guys in the store were getting an eye full of giggling.

Bump: Mostly because I now have one and it's great! Like I needed more of a reason to sit at my computer! HAH! My GF complained like crazy until she tried it and now I have to share. I'm betting I'll have 2 before the weeks done. I'm going back to add the 3yr extended warranty. It's a well built piece but I figure with all the moving parts it will be worth the extra $50 to get at least 4 years of service. Mmmmmmm.. Feels sooo good!

So is it possible to mail order this or not? I live in North Carolina and I wanna get this for my parents who live in NJ... so I'd really rather get it shipped to them instead of driving it up myself. If I have to go to a Sam's club and pick it up I guess it's still a super deal if this is indeed the same chair they display at Brookestones... I need to get together with my friend who has a membership...

I just got one. (and I'm thinking of getting one for my parents)

I asked Sam's about shipping, they don't do it themselves,
but contract it out to a third party (locally), so shipping
rates will vary. And as far as I know, you can't mail order it.
I think you would need to go in and buy it at the store, and then
arrange shipping at the customer service desk. Not very high tech.

You might try calling to see if you can buy it over the phone,
and also arrange shipping, using your friend's card number.

It's pretty big, it's not going to fit in a sedan, I think you will
need a hatchback or pickup.

My 2 cents worth:

I bought this chair about 2 weeks ago. I was able to get it in a Ford Taurus station wagon. The massage is plenty strong enough, but it is a little weak in the neck area, and it doesn't go down and get the lower back as far as I'd really like. The lower back can be reached to some extend by placing a pad or pillow on the seat to raise yourself up a little.

Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase though. I would never have bought one at $1000 or even $800, but for $400, it is well worth it. I think it is a great deal. Cape Girardeau Missouri store had 3 left after I bought mine.
