This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).

Christian persecution is a huge problem in many predominately Islam regions around the world. And it appears to be getting worse.

So is Jewish persecution in Islamic regions. So is Muslim persecution in Jewish and Christian regions. So is Christian persecution in Jewish regions. So is Buddhist persecution in Hindi and Muslim regions. etc etc....

And it's getting worse.

What's your point?

Yes, Mohammed was largely "tolerant" of non-Muslims in his kingdom. Of course, you had to pay taxes or you paid more (unlike those who were Islam) and you were free to convert--the punishment for converting from Islam, though, being the loss of your head--but it was still way better than the concessions offered to any other non-dominant religious group in other kingdoms of the time.

I wonder if they get to go to heaven after the beheading?
I don't know for sure if I will burn in hell for eternity for leaving the Catholic Church, or maybe goto one of those other bad places, like where unbaptised baby's go

How many Muslims are getting killed in the US for their religion? Take your anti-Christian bigotry somewhere else.

There is quite a long list here.

http://www.splcenter.org/get-inform...anti-muslim-incidents-since-9-11#.UYmLn6KsiSo

I did a quick scroll and found you a couple actual murders, hundreds more attempted, burning mosques etc

• June 27, 2009 – Yermo, California
Ali Abdelhadi Mohd, 51, a native of Jordan, was found burned to death in his family's vacant house that had been set afire. Mohd was at the residence to clean anti-Arab and white supremacist graffiti that had been scrawled inside. A mosque on the family’s property also was set afire in 2007.

• March 11, 2008 – Hayward, California
Manuel Urango was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Alia Ansari, an Afghani-born mother of six. Ansari was killed allegedly because of her Muslim heritage.

That doesn't matter for shit given that the current Islamic world doesn't take it seriously.

Which all current Islamic countries are expelling Christians?
I'm pretty sure SA don't allow churches but that's all I know

The Christian churches and the Muslims around me are getting along fine, and I've seen them working together on some things
What's it like in your neck of the woods?

Under Assad Syria was secular and Christians were protected. Women also had rights and if Assad goes then the Christians and other minorities along with women will lose their rights.

So there is an acceptable amount of evil in your book? Furthermore, there are a metric fuckton of people "persecuted" in the world today why are you more concerned about the religion of those persecuted?

Yes there are Jews and atheists being persecuted but there are lots of Christians as well.

And I am talking about Christians being killed for their religion.

How many Muslims are getting killed in the US for their religion? Take your anti-Christian bigotry somewhere else.

How many Christians are being killed in the US for their religion????? If you could provide some sort of statistical analysis on how likely a Christian is to be killed in the US due to their religion I would be grateful.

I totally disagree. I don't think it will happen suddenly, but I don't see any reason why we're impervious to a gradual encroachment of it. It will be disguised as religious liberty.

Do you think we should get out in front of that dangerous "religious liberty" before it harms us?

I'm sort of baffled by your deeply held desire for Islam to be a good thing for the world. It's not.

Muhammad was infamous for making alliances and peace treaties with powerful groups & nations only to break them once his forces could obtain an overwhelming victory. Non-muslims in muslim lands are given the choice to either submit to Allah (become a Muslim) or submit to the Muslims (be a second class citizen with higher taxes, less rights, etc.) We're just seeing it play out per their scripture.

This isn't the entire article but essentially a summary of the meat of it.

While the "war on Christians" might be met with sneers with reference to it occurring in the US, it's certainly a more understandable claim in the middle east.

It's a bitter irony that Christians in Iraq were treated better under Saddam. Makes me rethink my position about Syria. It reminds me of "Judgment at Nuremburg" in which one of the Nazi judges claims they were the lesser evil holding back the greater (being bolshevism).

The Arab spring appears to have provided a great opportunity for political Islam to take stronger root.
I agree, however IMHO it stemmed way back from the creation and continuing support of the Jewish state. And, the catalyst is more or less started with the invasion of Afghanistan and undoubtedly the invasion of Iraq.

That said people have use religion to attack and stole from each others for thousands of years and it doesn't spare the Jews from oppressed Muslim and Christian, or Muslim oppressed Christians & Buddhists, Christian oppressed very other religions, Hindus vs. Sikh, and even Buddhists oppressed others such as Muslim in Burma.

I'm sort of baffled by your deeply held desire for Islam to be a good thing for the world. It's not.

I have no such desire, you just dreamt that right up along with your desire to believe that Muslims are on a mission to take over the world.
If this was WW2, you would of been one of the first to try to sign up with the Nazi party and help save Germany from the Jews.
One of the things we were supposed to learn from WW2 was to never let extremists gain power and use a minority as your scapegoat
As a minority yourself, this is extremely baffling to me.

We're just seeing it play out per their scripture.

Your surrounded by end timers in the Army who are 100% convinced their interpretation of scripture is correct.
You somehow manage to work with these people everyday even though they consider you an adbomination
The grenade is in your foxhole, and your too busy looking through your binoculars for some bad guys thousands and thousands of miles away

Context time.

Nebor is among the most violently hateful members present on this forum. He is on the record for extremist and violently bigoted views against Muslims and any who may express any decency towards them. Nebor dangerously and delusional -- as Anders Breivik -- sees himself as an insurgent vanguard against the perceived invading hordes and will not hold back to act in crime:

Muslims are legion. They don't have the technology or high functioning intelligence of the enemy, but they are cheap, expendable and numerous. Have you ever read the book Starship Troopers? The muslims are the bugs, and Jews are the cap troopers.

They're smart enough not to be shamed into silence by political correctness and multiculturalism in the face of an insidious threat to their way of life.

It's tolerated because it's the opinion of the vast majority of the West. Is that a surprise? You realize we have entire wars dedicated to killing Muslims right?

If you think most Americans would shed a tear over dead Palestinian kids, you're wrong. One less future terrorist. The sooner all the Palestinians are wiped out, the sooner I don't have to hear about their bullshit in the news.

You and those like you are the enemy of the West and it's way of life. That's why you're ignored, denigrated and laughed at despite what I'm sure is a significant effort to construct eloquent arguments to make us feel bad. But like I said, those of us with more than an academic knowledge of you and your kind wouldn't mind if you filmed us while we put your entire extended family in one mass grave, because we know eventually it'll be you or us. We either fight now, alongside Israel, or wait until you convince enough idiots to let you gain the upper hand.

You say "us all" in an attempt to conceal yourself amongst others (a classic muslim\terrorist tactic.) You're the only one advocating for your viewpoints here, and what I said was directed at you, your family, and those like you. If you're going to quote me all the time, you might as well pay attention to what you're quoting. 🙄
Those such as Anders Brevik and Nebor should never be given a pass and tolerance to express their hatred and incitement.

AnandTech remains a home to Nebor, none of us should give him our welcome.

My point was quite clear and I'm surprised that anyone who's reasonably intelligent would have difficulty understanding it.

Yes, there is religious persecution involving others besides Christians. Thanks for pointing that out. 🙄

It's pretty fucked up to have to worry about someone tracking down and killing off your kids because someone on a message board considers you a race traitor.
Defiantly not worth it for me

From what I understand they are killing atheists too..and anyone who doesn't subscribe to their religous beliefs.

The Saudi Arabian Mutaween (Arabic: مطوعي&#1606😉, or Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (i.e., the religious police) prohibits the practice of any religion other than Islam.[3] Conversion of a Muslim to another religion is considered apostasy,[3] a crime punishable by death if the accused does not recant.[3] The Government does not permit non-Muslim clergy to enter the country for the purpose of conducting religious services.[3]

My point was quite clear and I'm surprised that anyone who's reasonably intelligent would have difficulty understanding it.

Fair enough. So, the most appropriate response, then, would be: "No shit, Sherlock."? 😀

Muslims hate atheists more than anything else. Christians and jews are seen more as confused children who only know part of the story. Atheists, representing the biggest thread to the foundation of Islam (and all other religions) are seen as the worst thing one can possibly be: a denier of god.

We figured out pretty quickly that you can't tell the Afghans that you're an atheist, you just have to lie and say you're a Christian, or they'll flat out refuse to work with you, or they might try to kill you.

Nebor is like a literate version of Incorruptible. I knew the dude was a loony toon, but I didn't realize he was such a brainwashed extremist bigot.

No there isn't but I am just pointing out how Assad didn't kill the Christians unlike the terrorists who will kill them if they defeat Assad. Many of the people being persecuted are being so because of their religion. Christians are being attacked in Egypt for being Christian.

How many Christians are being killed in the US for their religion????? If you could provide some sort of statistical analysis on how likely a Christian is to be killed in the US due to their religion I would be grateful.

They don't have to be killed though. The MSM and various leftist groups are attacking Christians.
