I couldn't get any more excited about this game. This and Bioshock in the same year is gaming nirvana.

So has it been confirmed that this is coming to PS3 later next year?

Well it's published by MGS right now, so I don't see that happening ever. Also Bioware has a history on the Xbox platform. It's possible, but I'd bet they're spending resources to make the second and third game and not on porting this to another platform.

Also I don't know if MS gains rights to the IP by publishing this game or not.

Actually I read yesterday where they confirmed it is never coming out for PS3.

I've been keeping up on this game pretty well and nothing indicates that this will ever show up on the PS3.

Regarding the rumors about PS3, Ken Levine (creative director of Bioshock) stated that the text found in the PC build that mentioned the PS3 is text left over from when they were planning on releasing on all 3 platforms. When they signed the contract with MS, PS3 development stopped. He explicitly said there is no PS3 version in development.
