Mass Effect: It's newer and flashier.

Oblivion is already bargain bin after 2 expansions and almost two years since release. Pick it up also in post-Christmas deals?

It's probably just me, but I find it difficult to play "old" stuff. When I can force myself to do it, I enjoy it, but the idea that I have to endure "older" tech bothers me. Like Fallout and Morrowind, each of which I adored for years, I can't bring myself to re-touch.

Good grief...it's still from this generation of consoles. It's not like he's comparing COD4 to Rise of the Triad.

The Fallout games aged kind of badly, but most games I find just as fun today. I was a small fan of Daggerfall, but an enormous fan of Morrowind. When I got Oblivion, played it for a week, and then realized all the crap I needed fixed to make the game a bit of fun, I just reinstalled Morrowind and played that for another 5 months.

Morrowind is not that old (2003 I believe?), and with all the damn mods for the game, I don't see how you couldn't replay it, unless you absolutely need physics in your games. 😛

Anyway, none of this matters, since it isn't as though Oblivion is really an old game. It came out last year, with some versions being released this year.

I think I've made my decision, I'll be economical and buy the first Oblivion (w/o the expansion. I'll buy it later at a cheaper price probably), play it while Mass Effect drops in price.

Thanks guys!

Now to make another post like this about FPS and fighting games >.>

If you are knew to the TES series, you will probably love the game. If you aren't, then you may still love it anyway.

I played TES2 and I must say playing through another one of those games doesn't sound enticing at all.
Which is why I still haven't played Oblivion even though it is in the bargain bin.

I thought TES II was decent, but I LOVED TES III. I didn't care much for Oblivion, though
