The fact that all that happened to him was getting stripped of rank is what's actually hard to believe. The Batarians hated our guts to begin with. And now, a rogue terrorist who rants like a lunatic about talking evil spaceships has blown up a large civilian population - and we didn't even throw him in the brig. If the Reapers hadn't shown up, you can bet your ass there was gonna be another war with the Batarians over that one.

My hopes for series continuation or branching stories after ME3...even if it's only as books. ME1 had tensions with the Batarians in the Bring down the Sky DLC as well.

finally played this last night, plays just like ME2

i'm replaying ME 1 and 2 for the second time to unlock the higher levels and will buy this whenever i finish

So, I killed the council in ME1, joined cerberus after they bring me back from the dead, and on top of that my ship was built by them so it's not even earth military!!!

The whole time in ME2 anything I did for earth was a favor! I never had any rank for them to strip, I wasn't even a spectre anymore... I killed an giant spaceship that looked like a man and wiped out a entire bug race...why would I bow down and return to earth?

I even told Earth to suck it after I blew up that mass relay. The whole story makes no sense from my characters point of view. If I wanted my ship back, I would just get my crew and take it back!

I do hope that they release a story-builder earlier for the 360 than they did with ME2. I do like trying out different scenarios, but I'm not playing ME1+ME2 all over again, just to see how killing the Rachni queen could change things.
