Last night I DLd the Mass Effect 2 DEMO and I am loving this puppy, WOW! so anyway, I am wondering since I was going to buy it, should I buy the first one first and play that all the way through or just buy Mass Effect 2 DEMO and enjoy it???

Thanks

i'd highly suggest getting the first one and playing through it. not just for the story but you can also port your mass effect 1 char into 2 when you're finished, which is a huge plus in my opinion.

Well, if you liked the Mass Effect 2 demo a lot, you might not want to play ME1. It is a very different game.

Buy ME1 and play it first.

There are just too many characters, conversations, and themes that carry over to ME2. You would be in the dark and really missing out on the scale of the game. It really serves to pull you into the games universe because you see the effects of the choices you made.

Plus the default ME1 story the game assumes can very easily conflict with your personality and the way you might have done things. That would ruin the immersion.

Well, thanks group but I just got back from Gamestop after the hired help said that they had both, HOWEVER, they only had ME2 so I purchased it 🙂

So for you ME2 players please post some tips for me as I find the little manual to be on the vague side. Since its a tactile game what should I be practicing at first and I definitely need assistance on using the team...Thanks, Jake

My strategy: Pick soldier class. Shoot everything. Win.

The most "tactical" thing is cover?

Mass Effect 2 is on sale on Steam today for $24. Sucks for you, unless you had some store credit or something.

play the first first
trying to go from the second to the first might not be that great seeing as the gameplay in the first will seem a little sluggish
