That pic isn't shopped but it is from Bangladesh. Seeing people do that on trains today in India is pretty rare(mostly happens during vacations).

I meant extraordinarily slow in times like these. So slow that anyone can outrun them, in many more cases, the trains are halted completely.

A lot of poor, brainwashed people are in India along with most of the world. Many people there and elsewhere are very superstitious due to their upbringing, culture or whatever. Combine that with poverty and you have bad results.

I wonder why the OP chose to name the thread the way he did. So if these same people are the ones supposedly overpopulating the Earth, then doesn't that prove that theory somewhat incorrect?

There are other mass gathering incidents all over the world as well. In Saudi Arabia, many people die due to stampedes during the Hajj. In India, during some Hindu festivals, many die also due to stampedes. Heck, in America some die due to the stampedes stemming from the Black Friday crowds - same mentality just a different setting. Sheep mentality which separates any logic and independent thought.

But you will always see people come into any thread about India, whether it's about India's economic progress or about what percentage of America's doctors are Indians, etc., they will use the same derogatory terms towards India. Just another opportunity for them.

Seems every time I turn to the news there is some terrible tragedy in India. A bus full of people plunging off a cliff. A overcrowded ferry capsizing. Just one tragic event after the other in India.

Dozens dead as they watched fireworks show on active train tracks.

A speeding train ran over a crowd watching fireworks during a religious festival in northern India on Friday, killing at least 58 people and injuring dozens more, police said.

The train failed to stop after the accident on the outskirts of Amritsar, a city in Punjab state, said the state governing Congress party politician, Pratap Singh Bajwa.

Police Commissioner S. S. Srivastava said the police have found 58 bodies so far.
