BOSTON, Nov. 18 ? Massachusetts? Supreme Judicial Court on Tuesday opened the door for marriage licenses to be issued to same-sex couples, ruling that the state may not deny them licenses.

I thought Hawaii did this already.

No we have a wacked out alleged Hare Krishna politician who did a hate campaign against it and it was not passed.

lol, well people here are usually very friendly, but our politicians don't even try to hide the fact that most of them are super-sleazy and care little, if any, for the public interest. at least we had a few go to prison last year.

They didn't approve jack, they sent the matter back to the legislature, and here's the part the sensationalist media is downplaying:
The Massachusetts question will now return to the Legislature, which already is considering a constitutional amendment that would legally define a marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

As has already been stated, they did not "approve" anything.

You people seriously need to work on reading comprehension.

It's just what MSNBC's title said right after the news broke, BEFORE they updated it.

Well, I doubt they are any sleazier than elsewhere... it's just that the local news obsesses over the fact that so-and-so fornicated in a restroom stall, etc., so public figures' corruption is always in your face. We are just waking up to a two-party system after many decades of one-party rule.
