Hi.

Here's the situation: I would like to use bittorrent for downloading certain things, and it's basically a P2P network. You trade files with other people, meaning you must give to also take. If you can't give files, you will not receive anything in return. The problem I'm facing is that my IP is somehow masked, hidden. This is stopping people from tracking me, meaning I can't give them files to in turn receive files from other computers. My kb/s is absolutely zero.

I'm using a router, thought I should mention that. Also using linksys.

Under Network Connections -

Name: Local Area Connection, Type: LAN or High Speed Internet, Status: Connected/Firewalled, Device Name: D-link DFE-500TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter (Rev B/C)

Name: 1394 Connection, Type: LAN or High Speed Internet, Status: Connected/Firewalled, Device Name: 1394 Net Adapter

In order to successfully use bittorrent I must reveil my true IP address to these ports: 6881 to 6899

I've tried everything I can think of, and thoroughly inspected the Anandtech forums for previous threads about the subject with no luck. Please help in any way possible! I will be checking this thread day and night. Any questions you have, I will answer. Any instructions you have, I will follow. Thanks in advance! -Zan

Determine the IP address of the pc, and on your router, you should be able to forward the ports to the pc.

If you have a router, try disabling the windows firewall and see if that helps. Also try this...

port triggering is good because you don't have to forware it to specific IP.
A good site is www.portforward.com

its pretty helpful, giving advice for stuff like starcraft ports...

(the pic is kind of wierd because I have a multimonitor setup)
