Are you new here or something?

I'm just a little newer than you, which isn't new.

Other than the Chris Benoit thread that was posted I have never seen any negative or comical replies in a thread pertaining to someone who just died. I see people post threads all the time about pets and family members/friends who have passed and replies seem to be pretty sympathetic overall, considering no one really knows that person or how they lived their life. But I post a thread about a celebrity dying and it's easy for anyone to come up with a cute little disrespectful comment.

Give it time... if Mask was drunk and driving at high speeds, then I can somewhat understand the comments. But they're a little premature right now.

you are a dimond member bro HOW could you say this? Desath threads on ATOT are the most pathetic display of peoples true colors on here. Everyone suddendly becomes this super talented, syper funny comedian and shoots off their best one-liners.

The maturity level on ATOT is maybe 3rd grade when it comes to people dying. I never knew that was the best time to start with the jokes.

You are talking about someone who enjoys watching extremely homoerotic and sub-primal, not to mention useless television programming. Maturity level started at -1. We raised it some.

Useless? Wow are you ever opinionated. I'd love to hear what you watch on TV.

Like painting your face and wearing second-hand gay hunting gear?

It was part of their marketing gimmick. They all act like fools, paint up, wear costumes, etc. to promote their product to wild MMA fans worldwide. It's not for everyone, including myself. But they did over $100 million in sales in 2008. That is quite impressive. Looks like they're doing something right.

why are we supposed to show respect for a guy who was street racing and lost (literally)??? is it because he was on TV, because he had a clothing line, because he capitalized off of MMA?

i'm sorry, but, no. the guy was a jackass for street racing and endangering those around him. ATOT collectively has little respect for illegal street racers; gay facepaint and antics aside.

By showing respect I mean hold off on the crude comments and jokes. Is that too hard?

Jackass he was. But criminal he was not.

If you had friends or family that died in a street race... would you want people laughing about it, making fun, and saying haha, he/she deserved it. Darwin WINS again!

I think not...

I'm glad to see that so many ATOT'ers were raised properly.

If he was going fast enough to split a car in half then he probably was well beyond just casual "speeding". I'm sure that the woman with him didn't want to be killed/crippled and was probably blinded by the awe of the whole situation.

The only reason he's not a criminal (if he wasn't) is because he's dead. His passenger is in the hospital and he could have killed numerous people with what he did. There are multiple felonies involved.

Its a tragic death for those who loved and respected him but not one that's going to bring much empathy for him. The best part of it all is that he's not going to do it again (and imo its doubtful that was his first race unless he just got the car.)

I should have known better than to post this topic here.... shame on me.

Guess I'm new here.

Everyone here has a right to their opinion and I disagree with just about every reply.

I respect what he did for MMA.

BUT look at the facts. he died in a street race! far better for him then anyone else and i have no sympathy for him at all. i do have some for his family. knowing the idiot could be alive today if he didnt race the other car has to hard on them.

We all need to come up with a term used for idiots who "do a service to Humanity by removing themselves from the Gene pool".

Ohh wait.

lol at multiple felonies

Street racing is called "speed contest" and it's a misdemeanor.

Yea, that's ticket! Welcome to OT.

And to everyone who said he "tapped out", it's technically "Let's go to the announcer for the official decision - god stopped the contest at 1:00AM due to a 130mph strike for our WINNER.. Excess Velocity!!"

So the other guy (and girl) got arrested for a simple misdemeanor? Maybe you didn't read the story....😕

not really. he was raceing and hit a pole. what would have made the story really sad is if instead of a pole they hit a van full of kids (or hell anyone else).

the fact he took himself out does not make it sad.

Or something terribly wrong. Making money doesn't mean you are doing something right.

LOL. Everyone around here has this same you're wrong, I'm right complex. You took my words and used them in a completely different context. Making money = successful business. It doesn't mean that Charles was right for speeding and killing himself.

The point is, most of us around here have a hard time caring about someone who died while acting reckless and put other people in danger.
