I thought about some duct tape, but I found the Bungie cord and it fit just right. Every redneck has one somewhere. :)

so true
<-- has 3 EPDM straps, 1 ratchet strap, and a bungee cord kicking around the back.

I was sitting in traffic on 95 listening to some AC/DC on the way home from work, when I look in my rear view and see a big ass Semi coming at me he knocked me about 5 feet. I think my car came out pretty good, got to love Toyotas. :)

..I like the bunji cord.

Glad you are ok.

Duct Tape = Win. You can't be a redneck if you don't have duct tape. I am very disapointed in you. It would ven be a pretty close paint match :p

That's very minimal damage.

Don't count on it. He's looking at a new bumper, bumper supports, bumper cover and possibly some other damage. Look how the trunk doesn't line up with the latch and the taillights are pushed out. I'm guessing at least $2k.

Not to mention the frame is probably bent too

Just by looking at pics and hearing what happened, I would make that assumption, too.

Which means the car, although it looks decent, will probably be totalled.

How fast was the semi driver going, roughly? I'd assume that if you were in traffic somewhere in the range of 5-15, but just wondering.

If the tail lights were falling off I'd use some duct tape, but on the trunk I would have to cut the tape every time I wanted to get at my cooler and fishing pole. So I picked the bungie since it's reuseable. :)

Uh....

If I saw a car with duct tape(rather than a bunjee cord) holding something down, I'd have to laugh and then beat the responsible soul to death with a bent connecting rod.

I was sitting still behind another truck and let off the brake before he hit me, kinda booted me 5 ft instead of squishing me. Ended up about 6 inches from the back of the other truck.

Called the autobody place today and got my Estimate $3870.00 :Q . I still have to pay my deductable $250 and for my rental for now. Dickweed that hit me doesn't seem to have any Insurance. So I have to wait 30 day for my Uninsured motorist Insurance to kick in and get my money back. Sucks I wanted to go to the Gunshow next weekend, now I'm stuck paying for this. :|

There's a lot more damage there that you can't see...

That is a lot better than it could have been. Hopefully you don't have any long term heath problems from that.

Hey I have duct tape holding more than a few things together on my car......just you cant see them from the outside! Heck I even have some duct in my computer holding things down ;)

And nearly 4K for THAT.....jeez for that price I'd do it myself and call it a day!
