Marvel Comics presents: Civil War

THE ENDING PISSED ME OFF (well part 7 anyway)

but i can kinda see both sides. you have people with such power that they can destroy cities without any effort. but they also have a long list of enemies so everyone knowing who they are is a bad idea.

i guess when it all came down to it i would have to be on Captain America's side.

yup, I read the whole series and didn't like the ending either, but I guess at the end it all makes sense. I liked House of M way better than Civil War.

pft. makes sense? seemed like they wanted to wrap it up so they take what 5 pages to do it? sheesh.

ok Captain America sees he damaged some buildings in the fight so he sits down and cry's and gives up?

then the next few pages are of Tonyshark head of shield and setting up teams in every state? pfft.

what about how they hinted that Tony started it so his business would do better? that he was behind the "steriods" that gave everyone powers? etc?

yeah seems the next issue of spiderman is going to be good. but so far i don't like how has twisted.

oh and having Venom and Carnage as "cops"? WTF!@ ahh they better do something. the ending is shapeing up to end like the clone saga years ago.

yes i thought they wrapped it up too quickly. even the battle was shaping up to be the biggest thing i'd ever seen yet it didn't seem to live up to that billing, IMHO.

i should have known though especially when the big battle only started at the end of issue #6 of a 7 issue series.

still, this series got me really into reading comics again. i might even pick up the next spidey just because of the blurb at the end of civil war #7.

ps - i was on cap's side. but i guess it had to end this way. i can't see how they could have resolved it with cap's side winning.

yeah the civil war got me back into reading comics (well as many as civil war was in).

since spiderman is still a wanted futigitive i will grab that. the fallout from the civil war should be good also.

Quick thoughts:
What the f*sk happened to the Extremis upgrade for Iron Man? His reaction times are supposed to be insane, and he gets beat by Captain America? The other guy he fought who had the extremis upgrade could run 300 mph ON FOOT and beat up Iron Man hand to hand with no weapons! Tony's upgrade was supposed to be HUGE.

WTF?

Second, Sentry housed Absorbing Man, causing him to explode with the power of a hundred million exploding suns. He should have enough power to blow up the Earth if he wanted to, in one shot. He's in only one panel of Civil War 7, being held off by Hercules.

WTF?

In the end, it shows Dr. Strange sitting on the pro-reg side at a table, where previously he vowed to not interfere, as the Watcher said he could end the whole battle by himsef. Did the writers not even read their own crap? How can they write a story and not even know the background on the characters? What the hell is up with Mr. Fantastic getting a bloody lip?

All in all, I was highly disappointed. There were a few points of ownage in there, like Hercules smashing Clor, but generally was a big let down.

first off CA is not just any man. well he is Captian America! he injected with the super soldier serom in WWII. he is faster, stronger and a brilliant tactician. in a hand to hand fight there are very few that can handle him. hell he made spider-man look like a newb in a fight.

2nd in issue 7 of CW Vision interfeared in the fight and messed up iron mans suit.

oh and look closer. Dr Strange was not with the PRo-reg he was on with the people still holding out.

Ooops I forgot about Vision... yeah I guess you're right, if Vision didn't interfere Capt America would have been beaten senseless, Tony must have been going easy on him.

In regards to Strange, he should have still been sitting in the snow meditating.

retarded that anti-reg forces were suppose to be winning during that battle. sentry, marvel, clor. uh yeah.

another reason that cap gave up is because that battle in downtown proved the whole point of registration is correct. supers need to be held accountable, look at the aftermath caused by reckless heros that didn't mind fighting around civilians/normal people.

is frontline suppose to be out today?

(MAJOR SPOILERS)

Captain America's side made no sense. I mean, no Supreme Court Justice, (or president, or legislator for that matter) could possibly interpret the Constitution as bestowing the right to be a vigilante. I mean, the constitutional arguments that cap makes are ludicrous (right to bear arms, therefore, right to go around town beating people up at arresting them). It's ridiculous.
You "right" to maintain a secret identity? Are you kidding me? Point me to the Supreme Court opinion that established that.
I mean, vigilante justice in comics was just a fantasy that we, as comic book readers, accepted as part of the fun of comics. But you can't build a story around the constitutional justifications for vigilante justice, because THEY DON'T EXIST. I mean, how could the writers NOT be thinking in their heads after the first issue of the series that, "hey, um, Captain America's not making sense here"?

Anyways, I think the Civil War fallout is gonna be pretty weak too. They basically turned 616 into the "Ultimate" universe where the superhero community is basically SHIELD/Ultimates centered with the exception of a few vigilantes (who are constantly under the supervision of SHIELD anyways, like Ultimate Spider-man). Kind of unoriginal.
