It looks like the only inputs for that thing are analog, plus a really expensive digital input. The best I could find was some boxes, which surely need separate power supplies, to convert from VGA to analog. Even that probably won't look too good.

This monitor isn't a good choice to view the video from your laptop for a couple of reasons:

1. VGA is an analog format, but may be difficult to find an inexpensive adapter to convert VGA output to either the composite S-video format or the digital format the monitor accepts.

2. Aside from the small sreen (7"), the resolution is only 800 x 480 so, even if your laptop or netbook supports that resolution, it probably won't look that good.

Hope that helps. :)

thanks for the replies,

I know that this isn't a good choice, i just want to know how to do it :)

So you think this is the only way? To find adapter VGA - S-video/digital format ?
What do you guys think about D-sub - BNC cable ?

cheers

VGA sends an RGB (Red Green Blue) signal whereas that monitor is expecting a YPbPr (Luma Blue-Luma Red-Luma) or composite (also YPbPr but multiplexed into one cable). So no, a simple pin adapter will not work. You would need either a laptop that has a native YPbPr output (usually older ones) or a box to convert from RGB to YPbPr.
