well i believe this guy came to this country as a EWI.. that is what i know .. he didnt come on a legal work permit.

however he is working for a landscaping company. The guy has a batchelors from mexico in psychology. He speaks english and all (apparently i havent me the guy), and he drives here and stuff.. evidently thats illegally.

he is supposed to have a brother here too, so i odnt know if that guy is legal or not. Its the logicistics of stuff that is daunting to me.

I came to this country legally, i am a US citizen, but even if i wasnt, i wouldtn want to get into something illegal. I mean just imagine if he gets stopped for a DUI checkpoint, they will ask for his licence (if he is driving) and volia, that blows his cover.

ofcourse i dont know the nitty gritty details and stuff, i never bothered, but its just really weird to see this girl dating this guy. Whatever, if they are happy and she is happy then all is good. But i doubt how long that happiness is going to last.

If he came without any visa, well .... he is screwed (mainly because he would have to go back to his country and therefore serve the 10 year penalty)unless they revive section 245i as they did back in 2000.

well that's what i thought.. they are both kinda fscked@

Uhh, not necessarily. As long as he's married to an USC, he'll be able to adjust status legally without having to serve the 3-10yr ban. You'll be amazed of the sucess rate of the I-601. Still would need to leave the country first though.

Wow, I didn't know that. I know all of this because my mother went through the process. I didn't know you'd be out of luck if you came here illegally. We came into the U.S. back in 94 on a tourist visa and stayed until 2 years ago when my mom married and I became legal through her. We're just waiting for USCIS's final decision. I think this immigration overhaul in planning is going to change things a lot though (obviously).

you can marry just about anyone...however they don't necessarily have an easy way to citizenship if that is what's being looked for.

Nope, not true. They maybe apply for citizenship after 3 years after having a greencard. Once a person recieves a green card their immigration slate is wiped clean.

that is true....is a green card easy? I married a Japanese woman and it took 2 years to finally get that green card. We were audited and even provided about 1000 pictures on trips, joint accounts, etc. It was a mess.

Like I said it's not easy, she was here legally BTW, not illegally.
