I am not sure what the exact stats are but not too many relationships make it through med school let alone marriages. Most likely after the s.o. helps fund a 1-income household the other leaves as soon as the M.D. diploma is printed. Potential future income, however, is a factor in determing alimony/child support, etc. Hopefully you have a wife that is very well aware of the time commitment that med school is.
My wife and I have gotten married, bought a house, went a long honeymoon, had a child, raised a lab puppy (needed the most patience!) and both held full time jobs while I pursued my J.D.
