Wife and I haven't exchanged Christmas gifts in years, we'd rather save the money and spend it on something nice for our home or a trip for the family.

This past year we took the money we would have spent on anniversary gifts and took a day trip. It was a blast, I think we're going to do that from now on for anniversaries.

We generally don't get each other gifts. Decided that rather than build my home theater room, I'm going to completely gut the living room, vault the ceiling, tongue and groove ceiling, new wood floors, etc. That'll make her happy - but I won't start the project until after Christmas.

Sounds neat. I love doing projects with my wife. Hand me that hammer sweetheart ...oh what do we have here...tools sex destruction and beer can't think anything more fun.

Dude, surprise her every once in a while with a nice girly gift. Chicks dig that...no matter how much you agree on how to spend your disposable income on home improvement projects.

Buy her flowers, treat her to a night out, buy her little gifts here and there that remind her of how special she is to you. Trust me, you spending 15 hours a week improving your house is not romantic or endearing to her.

warm hat and gloves this winter... I feel like I should even though we don't buy each other gifts anymore... everything is about the kids... she lights up when she gets something for the kids... she's out of control.

We've agreed not to do gifts this year, since we have everything we want already and more. And my wife bought a new Nikon D3000 a month ago as an early xmas gift.

I'm still going to get her something though....something small, under $40. Not sure what though; maybe a down blanket?

Got my wife a e-book reader, $140 gift certificate for a massage place and a bunch of other misc stuff.

We'll probably do some sort of vacation in the summer to celebrate us both turning 30.

I'm getting her a salon chair.

She's getting me a deep fryer, a Barnsie, and Family Guy "Something Something Something Dark Side".

Oh... and I"m getting me (and her lol) an HTPC and home server setup :) The tinkering and building is my present, the pretty case and network shared media is her present.

Girlfriend, not wife, but I'm getting her tickets to a Vikings game on January 3rd. Actually, I already got them, and she knows I got them. But oh well, we'll have a great time.
