[Ignoring the fact that your first sentence isn't actually a correct statement of relevant law,] while that does happen (and there are arguments on both sides regarding its appropriateness), Davis wasn't imprisoned for "badmouthing the judge." She was imprisoned for refusing - not just failing with even a lame excuse, but affirmatively refusing - to comply with the lawful order of a US District Court. If you don't understand the difference, well, then, never mind, just never mind... and Godspeed.aggression (imprisonment) can only be justified if the 'criminal' is guilty of violence of some sort. Bad mouthing a judge is not violent (unless they were threatened) and ends up being about the vaunted judge ego more than about true justice.
