I am trying to think of what I just read like two days ago that mentioned he was broke and living in some one bedroom bungalo or something somewhere. It also mentioned his son was in prison and his daughter had committed suicide. Hell, until I read the article I thought he was still living on his island in the S. Pacific. Obviously he doesn't have that anymore.
It's odd that right after reading that he might be dead considering it mentioned some project he was about to start too.

i always thought that someday, someone was gonna go check up on him, and they'd find him beached on that island...

i read that he had a voice over part in some cartoon or something. i was all "omg he's still doing stuff." after the shenanigans he pulled on his last movie i'm surprised anyone asked him to do anything again. (i.e. refusing to learn his lines, not wanting to wear pants, refusing to take direction from anyone but deniro..)

Well crap.

Nothing on CNN yet. Man, are they always the last horse to cross the finish line?

EDIT: Oop, there's the breaking news headline now. Still, way to be slow CNN.

I'd argue that maybe they just take more time to verify sources, but we both know that's not true. ;)

It's sad that he died, but he was 80 and lived a relatively full life (although a definitely eccentric one). I feel like he didn't really showcase his talent in a way that many would remember, with the exception of The Godfather. If it wasn't for that, most people would probably remember him for stuff like The Island of Dr. Moreau rather than On The Waterfront.

Edit: Of course, I'm an idiot and forgot about Apocalypse Now until I saw PanzerIV's post.

Especially because of how the headline says "CNN working to confirm." :p
