Despite DICE being all gung-ho about AMD, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst won't even feature DX12 despite being delayed!

Looks to be doing fine on AMD hardware to me!

HD7870=GTX690
R9 280X=GTX780
R9 290X=GTX970
HD7950>GTX680,GTX670 and GTX760

Even their ancient CPUs are not doing that badly!

A "meh" showing if you ask me ...

If AMD wanted to be competitive in this game an R9 290X should have at the very least been equal to the GTX 980 since we know Fiji has poor scaling to compete with GM200 ...

Isn't Frostbite an AMD-sponsored engine?

And why would a giant like EA need Nvidia's money? People are just spiteful here. "Might use GW". Yeah, "might". All baseless conjecture right now.

First of all Frostbite engine isn't Amd sponsored it uses nvapi too. since bf3.

If EA can take money from amd to make an engine like you said even though it's false. why wouldn't they take money from ngreedia ? LOL. you are seeing what you want here. open eyes maybe ?

Mirrors edge 1 had nvidia's pissx. so it's possible this will have it too. also nvidia is promoting this game and giving free beta keys. they don't do this unless they are sponsoring the game.

why don't just wait for launch instead of saying it won't have GW even though available evidence says otherwise.

Why? Cause investor?

It seems that when you start investing into something you lose an overall perspective. AMD needs Intel's stock to drop.

That's a good one. Please enlighten us on how AMD's corporate performance is linked to Intel's stock price.

So,shifting goalposts then.

But if you mean a meh showing for Nvidia then agreed. So why are so many Nvidia cards underperforming the game??

The whole range of Kepler based cards are being destroyed in a Nvidia sponsored game by slower AMD cards.

The GTX970 can barely match a R9 290X,and the R9 390 tends to match an R9 290X or beat it:

The R9 390 ands R9 390X show improvements in performance over the earlier versions,so even in your worst case scenario,an R9 390 should be around the same speed as a GTX970 and a R9 390X not much behind the GTX980,as its 10% faster than an R9 390 and R9 290X.

If that is the best that Gameworks or no DX12 can do now that is really a waste of money!!

Last time I checked on Steam, the GTX970 is the most popular enthusiast card - so why is it underperforming in a Nvidia sponsored game??

So,much for all your doom and gloom.

Sorry i thought Mirror Edge benchmarks belonged in the Mirror Edge thread, and not here in the AMD stock thread.. my bad :\

Well he was argueing about AMD not doing that great in Mirrors Edge or not having DX12 in a DICE game and performance being meh in the game- apparently AMD seems to be doing well enough despite his Doom and Gloom(tm). He says no DX12= doom and gloom for AMD.

Yet,DX11 performance looks fine like in The Division, both of which are Nvidia sponsored and DX11,so the false concern is that, false.

I bet he will try to wriggle out of it and next time you should try and try and take to task all the hyper-negative comments he is making in an AMD "stock" thread, unless OFC you prefer that.

Despite, this apparently AMD has increased desktop GPU shipping marketshare for the last two quarters. Must be the lack of DX12. Right.

amd is doing fine on nvidia sponsored games once you disable every AO they have
its a fact and even on this game you will see it

If you look at The Division - AMD performed a bit better without Gameworks on for most price segments and with Gameworks it was similar performance for most of the range. One of the German sites tested its effects.

Look at the something like Watch Dogs which was Gameworks and DX11,AMD was terrible in it. Fast forward two years and something has definitely changed.

Kepler still tanks, but unless it is a GTX980TI,the GTX960, GTX970 and GTX980 are not really running away in performance like they used to with Gameworks and DX11.

According to Techpowerup at launch the GTX970 was nearly 10% faster than an R9 290X!

Either AMD DX11 performance has improved or Nvidia DX11 performance has gone down a bit.

so what you are saying is that amd magically produced better numbers with hbao+ ON than OFF?

After some years, I finally sold off my AMD stock last Friday, Had 100 shares that were down about 500 dollars and 285 shares that were up about 500 dollars .. broke even after some years ...

one of my machines GPUs died on saturday (6870, though its possible it could be the Power Supply nearing the end of its useful life), I ordered my 1st nvidia card in almost 14 years (since geforce 4)

Looks like I was right. Pure market speculation. Everyone must have had their sell order set close to $4.00. Now it's heading right back down again. I wonder if it will ever go above $4.00, probably not. I'm guessing it will dip below $3.00 again.

No crap, bro. Market Speculation IS Wall Street. LOL. If you're so sure of things, why don't you just play the Stock Market and make millions. Man, this guy.

Incredibly naive and short cited.
