Can someone please help me interpret or give me ideas on this quote by Mark Twain: "The principal difference between a cat and a lie is that the cat has only nine lives."

Thanks..

The basic idea is that a cat only has 9 lives, whereas a lie can live forever....

.......a cat dies, a lie doesnt.

I really don't think that a lie can live forever. Eventually, down the line sometime, a lie will be exposed.
