Tebow needs to just go away. No idea why he is constantly being talked about; he's not even good. So stupid.

KT

I dunno. He did pretty damn good last season. He came through when it was needed.

He didn't get tackled by his own guy's ass when the game was on the line.

and fumble a snap that could have won them the game.

Not necessarily a bad decision if you look at each QB's last game against Buffalo.

Sanchez: 19/27, 266 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 123.4 QB rating
Tebow: 13/29, 185 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs, 37.9 QB rating

As bad as Tebow I don't think he singlehandedly lost several games for the Broncos last year. Whereas Sanchez caused at least 2 off the top of my head and has posted 4 games with a single digit QBR.

really not a fair the starting QB takes 90% of the snaps in practice. the backup rarely does much if anything.

Then asking a backup to come in and do great is always iffy.

and yeha Tebow has not lost a game for anyone. Where sanchez has at least twice

That was Tebow's penultimate game as the starter for the Broncos, seems like a fair comparison to me.

Put Tebow in and then tell him he has to play without the o-line for the rest of the year. I would pay to see that.

The cool thing about the way the Jets have dealt with Tebow is that it makes the Broncos look good in comparison.

Maybe if Tebow had shown some class and didn't pout and say he wouldn't play the wildcat last week he would have started this Sunday.

They were never going to do anything with Tebow but run dive plays up the middle out of the Wildcat. They cannot afford to put him in because if he does well then Ryan would lose his job after letting Sanchez dirty up the offense to the tune of 50 turnovers. Rex Ryan is a pathetic excuse for a coach and proof that nepotism should be outlawed in this country once and for all.

Tebow is a stand up guy and all he wanted was a shot once they knew Sanchez wasn't working out, but did he even get that opportunity? No, not even close. You would be pissed, too if you spent your whole life working to get this job and when the guy in front of you flamed out they wouldn't even give you a chance, at all.

Stop acting all holier than thou. I am a Georgia fan btw, so no I am not a Tebow hugger. I'm just sick of seeing people get passed over for no reason at all by people who should not even have the positions they are in.

Yes, thats the only reason a Tebow thread gets more replies than almost any other.
Its all about this poor football player. It has nothing to do with the religious right making him out to be some sort of perfect hero.

Not necessarily a bad decision if you ignore reality. ;)

I dislike religion as much as the next sane person, but I don't think it has any part in this discussion. If I were Tebow, I wouldn't be happy about this move. But then again I'd be happy overall knowing that the season is just about over so I can move on to greener pastures.

You're joking, right? Religion is a big part of why Tebow is popular. Or are you telling me that its just a coincidence that Tebow fans are also ignorant and can't support their positions with rational arguments? :colbert:

I am far from a tebow supporter and he is subpar but mark Sanchez has already had his shot and McElroy is out. Tebow has been no 2 on the depth chart all season so I don't understand why anyone can argue he doesn't at least deserve a start to see what he can do.

I understand why Rex Ryan doesn't want to play him because on the off chance he plays really well people than he is done for sure. I think he is done anyway so I don't think not playin tebow is going to change anything for him.

While that's true, it hasn't been a part of the discussion for quite some time. That was pretty big in his Bronco days, but anymore, it's simply about when is the guy going to get opportunities.

I really don't care for him much myself, but this "strategy" is batshit crazy. The Jets made it to a championship game with Sanchez, and therefore, "Sanchez brought them to it?" Piss poor logic, IMO. The Jets continue to regress under Sanchez. And most word from the Jets' camp is that they are coddling Sanchez, which is proving to be mostly true. The guy simply is not getting better. He's getting out performed by 3 (Griffin, Luck, Wilson) rookies this year. For me, it seems the Jets need to move on from Sanchez, but I don't think Tebow should be the guy.

From what I've understood, the Jaguars may be an interested trade partner for the Jets after the season ends for Tebow. If that is the case, the Jets risk losing value in Tebow if he falters while playing this week. If they don't play him, it's a big mystery and they can try to bank on "his" past "successes." Probably a good plan.

I dunno, if I am the Jets, I'd have benched Sanchez earlier on, if nothing else but to light a fire in his ass to make the necessary changes. As it is, it's too late for that. Just as well trade him off when the season ends.

I dunno that Sanchez will be done though. I think they need a real offensive coordinator in NY. Sparano did jack and chit with the Fins other than the wildcat. I'd look to see a coordinator change there, and maybe they bring in a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round who they'll actually allow to challenge Sanchez. At least that way, you give the guy you signed big one last chance to right the wrongs.

I get that Tebow is a religious nut. But to me this discussion has a lot more to do with the Jets and their lack of a real strategy for Tebow. It has more to do with Rex Ryan and him choosing not to play him. I completely get that Tebow is put on a pedestal by Christians... but from what I've seen, it seems that more often then not someone non-religious starts a thread about him. I think this conversation has more to do with the Jets having no real plans for Tebow and trading for him for the media attention more than to actually use him as a football player. In my opnion the real story is how they used this guy but appear to never have had any real plans to play him outside of a few wildcat snaps a game and on special teams.
