Mark Ingram wins Heisman

Ingram finished 28 points ahead of Stanford running back Toby Gerhart.

i guess thats what the 5 votes convert too

Ingram will go pro now. I was hoing for toby because senior, better stats, and Ingram should stay one more year at Alabama but really could have gone either way. Congrats Mark!

What are Gerhart's stats compared to Ingrams?

Alabama is undefeated so I guess Ingram gets the nod there.

toby has about 13 more tds and 300 more rushing yards

if u do total rush and reciving.. yards are pretty much equal but toby still has more tds

i am prolly off. we looked at these stats on thursday so i am just going off the top of my head

The betting lines had Ingram as an overwhelming favorite..He was -600 while Toby was +600, while the next candidate was at least +1000.

Gerhart = Tommy Vardell. If the Browns draft this guy in the 2nd, I'm going to be unhappy. I want Suh, Spiller, or Berry. In that order, depending on where we're picking. But please, no Gerhart.

Ingram can't go pro. He's only a sophmore.

Wow Gerhart really has 11+ more TDs than Ingram? Makes me think twice now. Also Pac-10 was really strong this year, USC at 8-4 is 6th in the conference. Going to really be a down year in Pac-10 hoops though 😛

A true sophomore. The last sophomore I can remember going pro was Fitzgerald, he got a waiver (I believe that is what they referred to it as on ESPN back then) from the NFL due to him being 2.5 years removed from high school.

Gerhart will be 2-3 rounder. Might be a 1st rounder based on combine for himself and others. He has a bowl game + the senior bowl to impress the NFL people.

Vardell was drafted #2 overall by Bill Belicheck of all people.

What was he thinking a full back as #2 overall?

In any case. Vardell was a one year wonder. Gerhart put up similar numbers last year. Just Stanford wasn't that great so you wouldn't know who he is unless you're in the bay area.

Vardell was drafted 9th. Still a bad pick!

11 more TDs and 194 more yards and he got that in 12 games vs Ingram's 13.

Makes ya wonder how much that extra game against Florida played into the voting for Ingram. Toby didn't have the same luxury and so didn't get the same coverage last week.

I'm not sure if Ingram won it in the last week as much as McCoy lost it in his last game (and this is coming from a Bama fan). He was all set to take the Heisman before his performance against Nebraska and that last play where came within a pubic hair of losing Texas a chance at playing for the National Championship.

Tebow had no business being there though. He just didn't have the same kind of stats or performance from his Heisman winning year. CJ Spiller should have been there instead.
