almost here....just a week or so left.

btw, i've read/heard different reports that it is 8 player or that its 16 players.

I checked nintendo's website and they say 8 ppl, but a lot of reviewers say 16. Anyone know which one is in fact the correct number?

side note, there's gonna be a way for you to play over the internet. That'll be sweet.

You'll be able to tunnel (much like people play Halo online) in and play over the internet. Supposedly Nintendo worked closely with gamespy and to try and make it run fairly smooth.
 
Since there's an option for LAN does that mean we'll see some sort of online play like we have for Xbox (XBConnect).
 
well, this program called warpipe will let you connect through the internet w/ other players.

basically you need a router w/ a PC and a GC connected to it. The PC has the warpipe proggie and you do all your settings there and it'll connect your GC to other ppl over the net.
 
so does anyone know if this will be 8 or 16 players via lan?

I read saw on nintendo's website that its 8, but i read lots of gaming site reviews that its 16. I dunno which is right.

What are you, two? The guy barely said anything other than you didn't read his post (which you obviously didn't or you wouldn't have wrote what you wrote) and you didn't answer his question. I think you got the whole asshole thing backwards.
 
After reading the preview at ign, I'm even more excited about this game now...
The only thing you have to cooperate to do is the power slide: the driver starts the slide and the guy in the back seat has to rock the stick back and forth to get the boost, like in the 64 version. You can also switch seats in the middle of the race 😎

yes i am two years old. i am a genius because i can type and read at two.

and i answered his post. if ONE GC can have 8 players, then if you hook up TWO GC's, that means there will be 16 players. obviously i underestimated the mental capacity of some members here.
 
Ign said the 16 players thing was with 8 different cubes and 8 different TV's, 2 players to a cart... full screen.
 
I wonder if this is why they started to re-release the Broadband Adapter for the game cube all of a sudden. I was looking for one but all I could find was the modem, the other day I went to Fry's and they had a whole shelf full of them. This would be good with the Linksys Wireless Game Adapter.
 
i just played it... i don't like it. too much eye candy... and crap i don't really need.

i'll just keep playing Mario Kart for SNES. 🙂
