Mario Kart 7 looks like a potential winner.

I know people don't like the 3DS but MK7 uses Street and Spot pass really nicely and has other cool online features. Sure it's not as good as if it were on Xbox 360 type multiplayer but still, it looks like fun:

Looks like they have a long ways to go before catching up to Mario Kart 64.

Mario Kart DS is probably the best one in the series, Mario Kart 64 wasn't that great.

Well I was poking fun at the naming system.

I do think MK64 was the best simply because of all the hours I spent playing the game with friends. It's way more fun to be playing multiplayer on one giant tv than on a bunch of different hand helds.

You know what always confused me? Why did they make the mushroom power-up a speed item and the lightning item a shrinking item?

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the mushroom decrease the players size and the lightning give you super fast speed? In Mario Bros, mushrooms made you bigger.

Well if they are to stick to strict canon they should use a poison mushroom for shrinking. These appeared in Super Mario Bros 2 (NOT Mario 2 here in NA, but Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels):

the star does speed you up, at least it did back in the only good mario kart game, the SNES one.

I don't think any MK game has ever not been a winner. Also MK7 will have 8 player online.
