What's everyone's take on the new Wii controls?

I was getting pretty excited for Nintendo while reading the comments on this board during Nintendo's conference (I wasn't able to watch the stream). However, after downloading and watching the video myself, there's no way in hell I'll be able to play a game like that for more than a few minutes.

Don't call me lazy, either, I just don't see playing games like that. If I wanted exercise, I'd go out and mow the lawn.

I thought a first-person shooter would rock, but seeing this Red Steel game made me think otherwise. The only thing I saw that I thought looked cool was Duck Hunt, hardly a $200-$250 must-spend on the system, though. I like the idea of Solid Snake in Smash Bros., but I'm not playing that with the Wii-mote either.

Simply put, for me, if Nintendo would release a regular, no-frills controller along with the system, I'd probably pick it up.

SSBB isn't playing with the Wiimote, developer wants it to be used with the GC controller because he doesn't want to alienate alot of gamers.
At first, my interest in the consoles went something like Wii > XBOX 360 > PS3, now its Wii >> XBOX 360 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS3. This E3 Sony really proved that their hype is just that, hype. "Hmm, people don't like our boomer...I mean controller, time to copy Nintendo's!"
A play on Sega's old ad campaign, "NINTENDOES WHAT SONY DON'T!"
