Mario 3

i can't beat super mario 3 even with warp whistles. i can beat any new video game out now but i can't beat a silly little nes game...woe is me. :frown:

I think people always underrate the Hammer Brother suit. You get to throw hammers, and duck underneath a fireproof shell, whoopie!

Playing Super Mario 3 now qualifies as a life huh? Wow!! To think I've actually been working, going out, being with friends, going to the lake, golfing, riding mountian bikes, dating, traveling, etc.... and all this time I didn't really have a life.

I could easily Mario 1, Mario 2 took a few tries but I eventually passed it, I only tried a few times but could never pass Mario 3.

🙁

You don't understand the extremity of how incredible this once in a lifetime opportunity situation is.

So kindly leave.

I beat all the NES Super Mario games. Who needs the cheater whistles? Have you ever played the Japanese version of SMB 2? It's not like the US SMB2, it's like SMB1 only about ten times as hard! It was ported for SNES in the United States under the name "Super Mario Brothers Lost Levels". Now that was a fun game!

Are you done with the game then? I'm looking for a good deal on used.

Yes it came bundled in a the Super Mario All Stars game with Mario 1, 2 (Japan), 2 (USA), and 3.

That game was/is hard as crap. I still have not beat it.

Man this really makes me want to break the NES and SNES out of the closet 😀

Your life sounds boring.. try spicing it up with some Mario all stars.

man I love super mario bros 3! ohh damn i wish i still had my NES. i too have beated without whistles and its soo fun. i never thought it was that hard though. mario 1 was hard and i didnt play 2 but 3 was the best.

i know with whistles i can beat it in under an hour (one whistle in world 1 and one hidden in the dessert wordl (the second world). if i remember with two whistles u can warp to 8 and from there its pretty easy. its hidden in the top right corner of the map, you have to use a hammer to break the rocks and beat some guards that u can now fight.

the two moving armies (tank and boat) are so fun. but all u have to do on the boot is dive into the water and let yourself fall below the water without drowning. the boat will then pass over u and if u keep trying to swim up you can stay underneath it and live. so that beats the boat easy.

the flying barge level is hard. but thats when you use one of your P Wings (unlimited racoon).

the first castle (not the final one) is the hardest level but if u beat that the rest its easy.

the final castle was dissapointanly easy after the first time u beat it. first you run straight as fast as u can and hte lasers wont shoot u. the let the rising platform take u to the top. then u fall into a big open room with 4 vertical entrances at different heights. fly to the second from the top (am i right?) and go in. dodge the spiked block and fall down the falling brick. the just jump over some lava brick part and youre home free. and bowser is easy, just go over the middle of the bridge let him jump in the air and move out of the way. repeat until all the blocks are gone.

its been about 4 years since i played that but damn that was my favortite game. i wish i could find it 🙁

just hooked up my old NES and SNES for some old school gaming after reading this thread 😀

I forgot how much fun these old games were!

games that I played were Mario All Stars (mario 1,2,3,lost levels), FZero, Double Dragon, Castlevania 3

I'm going to try out the rest of my old games and see if they still all work.

Yeah that's what I did but absolutely nothing beats the two button rectangular controller!

Nothing also beats leaving the Nintendo on for a number of hours while you are away just so you can save your progress... 😉

SM3 is on Nintendo's list of future titles for Gameboy Advanced. I can't wait. SF2 and SMB2 & 3, now all they need is Zelda 1, 2 & 3 for it and I'll be totally stoked. I get my GBA on Wednesday. Reserved it at Wally-World!
