ok this super mario clip is interesting but it's really, really weird. the dude doesn't try to beat the game as fast as the smb3 guy and he also seems to have used soem sort of crack or something because a lot of weird stuff happens. i dont know if they're glitches or codes or what but a lot of it is freaky!

I think the vid is more about him showing off his skills in exploiting glitches and bugs.

I got an Idea. Everyone dl a Nes emulator and a copy of the original Mario Bros (as in the first one ever) and see who beat it the in the least time. Wouldn't that be fun?

And without video proof that you didn't cheat (aka level save etc) everyone would doubt the times.

Did you know the world record time in beating Metroid Prime is 1 hour, 46 minutes? I still haven't beaten this game. I'd love to see some of the world record setting game.

Wasn't there another guy who's done it in just over an hour, I'm sure it was posted on here not so long back. He had a website with loads of videos of him doing the levels and a running dialogue as well.

Yea it's somewhere in OT. I never got around to dl'ing those. They were taking too long

Wow this is impressive. But, I have to wonder did he run this on his computer and use a macro program to input the commands? Then he'd have to master only one level at a time instead of a flawless 11 minues. In that case it's less skill than just practicing the same damn level over and over and then replaying the macros in order.

If I recall correctly, that video was somewhere around 1 hour 25 minutes, and he didn't get all the expansions and secret areas. The current record of 1 hour 37 minutes is 100% complete with every artifact, missle expansion, etc. Realworld time was a bit over 2 hours 17 minutes, but "gametime" is 1 hours 37 minutes. It was pretty impressive to watch, considering my buddies are only about 50% complete and have over 12 hours into the game.:frown:
