So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."
Good on him. Nothing at all wrong with that quote IMHO.

there is something wrong with that quote, in MY honest opinion.

That is...?

I don't have an issue with it. He's a fvcking soldier, if you didn't want them to KILL! KILL! KILL! then why did we train and them them into combat? So what if he enjoys they jobs -we- send him out to do.

What did you expect him to say?

"Every time I've gotten in an engagement, I've had a good cry afterwards. Then, I'd talk with my commander over tea, about our feelings and then afterwards, we'd hold each other..."

yeah, that is just what we need, pansy ass sensitive marines. that would be great. we don't want the best killing machines in the world on our side, we want "nice" soldiers that have to get therapy if they end up defending the US and killing our enemies

this is a non-story. the guy obviously needs to learn to keep his mouth shut, but otherwise, what else would you want a military leader to think?

what do you think Patton would say ?

There are some people in this world who just need killing.

I am sure he senses a great deal of satisfaction knowing he is taking out people who would just love to see just about any "infidel" western civilians in their sights. More power to him, I say.

Keep pulling the trigger until you get blisters, Sir!

/salute

How about because these were the same cowards that harbored Al-Qaeda? Go watch the movie "Osama" sometime to see how women were treated under Taliban rule.

He's not justifying their murders, he's saying it's fun to shoot people like that.

and that is precisely what is wrong with his comments.

i never assumed that these men who beat their wives were killing troops. if that was the case, why wouldn't he have said that directly?

I was thinking more along the lines of groundhogs, bobcats and dear, but I did shoot a dog once though. The car has claimed all my cats though.

Edit: forgot the rabbits. Lots o fun wabbit huntin.

Because that is who troops are hunting down and killing. The same people do both.

Look, some people who are trying to kill you are just more fun (satisfying) to kill than other people who are trying to kill you.

If a 10 year old kid comes at me with a gun and tries to kill me, killing him will have NO satisfaction. But if a wife beating prick comes at me with a gun, the satisfaction level will be off the scale when I blow his head off.

See how that works?

Even a little poochie? did he wimper a bit before you shot it? 🙁

That soldier is a tard. Okay, granted he's messed up by thinking that killing people is fun, but he's a tard because he bragged about it in the media. Stupid people + guns = bad.

i understand what you mean, but the marine's comment is out of line. his statement shows his lack of understanding of the muslim culture and his acceptance of pervasive stereotypes.

what scares me is that it seems that he uses this statement to justify his killing of individuals in the ME. he never mentions that its fun to kill ppl who are trying to kill you. instead, he points to a stereotype.

but the pasifists want to just have a nice spot of tea with these fellows and work out our differences with some nice therapy. no need to resort to violence, we'll just open negotiations and use some economic sanctions and it will all turn out ok. that "wife beating prick" is just misunderstood, with some good counseling , he can be nice fellow again.

blah, blah, blah

😉

That was out of pitty. I was leaving the field from hunting and I came accross this stray dog. It was blind with maggots it it's eyes and was missing most of it's skull and you could look in and see it's brain and fly's were in there and at least 2 maggots. I felt kinda bad about doing it bacuase it was one of the friendliest dogs I have ever seen. Ran up to me and wanted to play, but I knew it would have been wrong to leave it like that, so I shot it.

Sounds to me like he understood the Taliban's culture very well.

The Army doesn't go around killing non-combatants, contrary to what the hippie protesters would have you believe. If he's talking about shooting someone, you can bet your ass that someone is trying to kill him.

How is it a stereotype when it is true? Women were treated horribly under the Taliban. They used a soccer stadium to stage executions of women who didn't abide by their law.

ya i noticed that too. That's what he's talkinga bout - you feel good about ridding the genepool of those specimen. Either way i don't see why they wouldn't feel like they're having fun. After a while you get desensitized and detached from the moral aspect of what you're doing, so much like with anything else you could feel satisfaction.

Think about a school shooting scenario - if you had the opportunity to bag the fvcker that pulls out the gun and starts schooting in a highschool caf, wouldn't that feel good? As if you've done something right ?
