A Marine traveled to Pittsburgh for a Christmas Eve encounter with a 13-year-old girl he had met online, authorities charged.

Lance Cpl. Johnathan Plaisance, 20, was arrested Christmas Day in Harrisburg after the girl's parents reported her missing.

Sadly, this probably happens quite frequently.

For bonus point, track down his myspace address....

Man, 20 years old, a Marine, more testosterone than Bas Rutten, why the hell didn't he get any from women his age?

Yeah, but he's a military man. I've got to say that I was under the impression that they could get some legal lovin from pretty much anywhere.

What gives?

This is not good ...

But how many 25 year old female teachers have similar tryists with young boys and get away with house arrest or similar harsh penalty?

My guess the Marine Core is going to take a VERY dim view of this.

I don't know about the Core, but I'm sure the CORPS will certainly take a dim view...welcome to Portsmouth or Leavenworth...

That make the news?

If the girl lied about her age, they should lock her up, not this guy.

According to the story, he might've thought she was 15...don't think that's going to help his case any.

That being said, I could see mistaking a 16-year-old as being of-age, but 13 is pushing it, mature and/or well-developed as she may have been.

Even if she did lie about it, would she deserve to be locked up for that? Not in my opinion, unless she then turned around and--having developed a pre-meditated plan--used her age against him.

is lying a crime? because if it was im pretty sure we all should be locked up.

It's about as much as a crime as the guy comitted. Unless he kidnapped her, it sounds like she wanted to go with the guy and went of her own free will. I don't see a problem with that.

Yeah, but I mean, with a girl both parents are like WTF, with a boy, the father is, at least in secrete going, hell yeah son!

j/k

13 is too young, but I support our troops. God Bless America.
