If I remember from some stuff I read on the interwebs, her gestures and public personality was just a facade, she was really different in more personal situations. I think it said she really intelligent too. Don't remember the source, it's been a while.

I remember not too long ago they found some more "never before published" pictures of Marilyn Monroe. It seems they were found in the LIFE magazine archives with a note: "this take was over-developed and poorly printed." Which gives reason as to why they weren't paid attention to. Here is one of those pics.

sheieieieieieieit Halle Berry & Jessica Alba are the only 2 who come close to resembling the special fx'ed photoshoped versions we see on tv and in magazines. Marliyn definitely wasn't cute without makeup. ATOTers can chime in all they want with the "everyone takes bad pics sometimes..." she looks bad in all the makeup less pics, real bad.
 
My uncle was in the same room as her back in the 50's and said she was the best looking woman he ever saw. Don't know how much was being starstruck tho.

you're insane, she looks pretty even without the make-up.

pro-tip: all females wear makeup and almost universally look worse without it. but Marilyn without makeup > most other women without makeup.

Definitely.

It isn't really all that hard to figure out what a girl will look like without makeup, many females in general lose that "stunning" look without makeup - if you judge them based on the makeup that is.

And she definitely looked great in those no-makeup shots.
The only ones that are "meh" are the pool ones. And, come on, almost nobody has a beautiful face when it's dripping wet for some reason. Wet hair and face leads to a, well, intriguing, look.
The rest, she's still gorgeous.

So sad that at that time, the Marilyn look was the body women wanted. Now, that look is basically dead. Seeing ladies like that still makes me do a triple-take at best, that type of figure definitely draws all of my attention. 😀
 
Indeed she was. Though for us heteros 'beautiful' probably isn't the first word that springs to mind. 😛
