the republican party should rally behind legalization stating how the government should stay out of peoples business. it would convert millions of liberal voters into republican supporters.

It's just the last of the Good Ole Boys and the godfreaks clinging to their bible now. Those graves are getting dug already. All the young and moderates are already on board.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside and it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’

You cannot inject alcohol. I mean those of us that don't like the feeling of our arms burning off will not like injecting alcohol. Ask an intravenous drug user that has used alcohol to clean his syringe and then did a poor job of rinsing out the alcohol, what it is like.

you can...

i'm an IV well.. ex- IV drug user.... i've injected vodka just to get my jollies....

i spoke from experience there..

i refuse to piss in a cup to go to work. i am not an indentured servant. if it means i have to live homeless, so be it. thankfully im not there yet, but i swear to god i will happily live in a cardboard box and die an early age so long as i can keep my personal body personal.

I agree! I will never take another piss test. You have to draw the line somewhere.
You guys mind if I smoke a doobie before I fix the aircraft you get on?

Valid point, the problem is in some states the "drug free workplace" can be abused, my past employer liked to round up all the long-tenured employees for testing, clearly, these weren't "SSI#'s the computer picked randomly" as we were told that was the method used for selection. FL is amongst the worst as far as worker protection goes. Back to your point though, yea, that train operator that ignored the stop signal and caused a head-on collision had THC in his blood, I guess operating a locomotive and being stoned as a bejesus don't mix too well..

never going to happen. the war on drugs was (officially) launched by nixon, and is a pillar of republican values.

That's a crock of shit sold to you by the liberal agenda, and you know better than to promote such a simpleton idea.

The war on drugs in the US started in the 1800s with the Temperance Movement, and has always been a bi-partisan affair.

The real problem is in the mindset that there are two distinct political parties with two sets of motives. There are not. Politicians only concern is election, and this will be the case until we the people take away any incentive beyond charity and duty.

Depends. If you are a daily user I wouldn't mind at all, in fact I'd prefer it. If you are a casual user then I probably still wouldn't mind too much. If you are like Zeze, then I wouldn't want you at the same airport.

i am so sick of this. there used to be a time in our history where medical information was personal, and the only time you would get tested is if you caused an injury accident that couldnt be explained by normal behavior.

i refuse to piss in a cup to go to work. i am not an indentured servant. if it means i have to live homeless, so be it. thankfully im not there yet, but i swear to god i will happily live in a cardboard box and die an early age so long as i can keep my personal body personal.

I hear refrigerator boxes are the best, you can set up camp near a KFC or a pizza joint. No, really I believe that the vast majority of jobs should not require testing, if your a pilot, bus driver, crane operator, ect. then yea, it makes sense. What people don't know about is workplace drug testing is a cash cow for Labcorp, Quest, to name a few, they take the sample, check for adulteration via a dip stick, then do a 3, 5, or 10 panel test (whatever the employer asks for), if it's negative (around 95% are) that's it. If it's positive it has to be verified with a second test with an MS/GS machine for confirmation, this is an expensive $350 test but since it has to be done on a small amount of the samples the cost is minimal because they usually charge the employer a flat $150 fee, the dip sticks are cheap, add in the cost of collection and transportation and their cost is around $30. With them making this kind of profit they put $$ in the right politicians pockets to see laws rarely get changed to interrupt the cash cow, think about big tobacco co's, same thing, it's been known since the early '60's that cig's are horrible health-wise but yet they are still readily available for sale, but wait! the Gov. imposes a "sin tax" on cig's so they get part of the action, really any responsible government would halved outlawed the sale of cig's decades ago but hey, re-election isn't cheap and if you lose your seat you have to go out and get a real job like the rest of us, $$$$$ dictates EVERYTHING that happens in the end..

That's no different than drinking on the job, both of which should get your ass fired.

Exactly. I guess some people are too stupid to realize that just because someone smokes pot it doesn't mean they do it before or while working.

yup, if you're at work drinking or smoking you're being irresponsible and should be punished. If however you want to go home and have a drink/smoke, that should be just fine.
