Marijuana poisoning!

Foreign substance introduced into the human body to detrimental effect. That's a poison.

"Poison -A substance that causes injury, illness, or death, especially by chemical means."

It's doesn't harm your body in any way like that, and oral ingestion has no physical side effects on the body either. It's all just temporary and mental...it's a psychedelic, despite what some may think. If your mind can't handle it, you'll become uncomfortable in many ways. But, after it wears off, you're back to normal. If it's not causing damage, it's not poison...

so both you, and coreyb have dropped out, and can compare the effects?
Haven't touched it in 5 years. I've got better things to do nowadays. But I do remember a lot about it.

EDIT: You're talking about LSD? Haven't touched that stuff in 10 years. I remember a lot about it, too.

this doesn't surprise me one iota. you have to be careful with edibles. best to have a half of a cookie or brownie and the other half a couple hours later. 9 years old? omg. it is just sad that they were exposed at such a young age. that's terrible.

a doper that claims it can do no harm is a fool. anything can do you harm if abused or done in excess / without knowing wtf you're doing. except for chicken wings

I ate some extremely spicy chicken wings once and couldn't' breath cus they were so hot so chicken wings definitely can kill.

The funny thing here is that of all the things these kids could have "OD"ed on or been "poisoned" by this is probably one of the least harmful for them. I'm not trying to say it was completely harmless to the kids, the certainly got very sick, but had it been MANY other substances that one can 'OD' on it could have been MUCH worse. It certainly was wrong for the neighbor not to have told the parents about the MJ being in the cookies and he should probbaly be chraged for that, though I would at most give him a hefty fine or something, no jail IMHO. The conclusion to draw from this is to ALWAYS disclose what's in the food you are serving or giving out to relative strangers. Heck if the kids had been allergic to nuts and the cookies contained them it could have been deadly. But I'm sure the puritans and right wing nut jobs will instead just use this to further demonize pot. *sigh*

That's not even close to being true. 🙄

Uhhh yes it is, for the 1st time a few months ago I ate some Rice Crispy Treats from a dispensary. I was 10 times higher then I've ever been in my life and damn near tripping balls. The high was nothing like any smoking high I'd ever had.

marijuana is at best a mild hallucinogenic. However; the smoker's desire and expectations of what they are smoking has a large impact on the experience.

MJ is not a hallucinogenic. There are very specific biochemical reactions, that lead to largely visual stimulus, that must be met to classify a hallucinogen. Cannabis doesn't contain any chemicals that can cause these reactions. Mushrooms, LSD, however, do.

Cannabis can, I believe, act as either a stimulant or a downer. Depends on THC/CBD content. The funny thing, CBD alone is recognized as an anti-cancer agent. It's weird--b/c of it's classification, it is very, very, very hard to do well-controlled research on the benefits and negative effects of the plant, yet it's known that many of the compounds are greatly beneficial to health, and strangely enough, therapeutically.

It's very likely that within 10 years, you'll be seeing Glaxo or Phizer pumping out CBD pills, b/c the upside is quite overwhelming.

We would have been there now, were it not for the butt-hurt tee-to-tatlers needing another boogeyman when their failed prohibition experiment with alcohol ended in a bloody, crime-ridden disaster. wait...kinda sounds familiar. :hmm:

(actually, it was that time when the name "Marijuana" was first coined. It sounded all "Spanish," and perfectly evil enough to scare god-fearing whitey away from something that was, until then, always known as cannabis.)

well, you definitely weren't tripping, but consumption definitely affects you differently. It takes longer to come on (usually 30min-hour), but the effect is more prolonged and..."heavy"

How much experience with high potency marijuana have you had? It may not be classified as a hallucinogenic but it has similar effects at times.

LOL. well there's your problem right there. your tolerance is too high so you can't get the crazy effects anymore! 🙂

If you don't do it daily, then you can have good experiences. I've found that for me, regular daily use just leaves me feeling more paranoid than anything.

BUT, I haven't had as good stuff over here as I had when back home. That stuff is certainly here, I just don't know the people I knew back home...and these were very special people.

In the end though, I find it's best with very moderate use. For me, anyway.

Back when I was smoking some very special herb, and testing out mushrooms, I could never compare those effects as being similar. I think those that experience visuals when smoking cannabis aren't getting true visuals--or rather, the type of visuals you get with shrooms/LSD, whatever. It's more in your head, you know?
