Man, it's January 9th and the main street in town is shut down for a parade. It's nuts.

Anyone doing anything for Mardi Gras this year?
 
I'm heading to Lafayette for Mardi Gras!! 😀

We get 3 days out of school so I plan on being plastered the entire time. :beer:

I know, it sucks. When I was in Indiana I told the people that I work with that I was going to paint my car and throw beads out. They said that I couldn't do that because the town had a law that you can't throw things at parades. Someone might get hit.

That place has no soul. 🙁
 
The Major Parades kick off and begin rolling tonight.

Will be my first time as a new resident here.

Big Parade my friends do is Endymion.

The parade finishes in the New Orleans SuperDome for a huge party.

I'll be there and bring my laptop and post pics from the party at the dome (via Wi-Fi in there).


 
One more week.....ahhhh and I'm broke!! The plan is to hit up Lafayette, Eunice, etc instead of New Orleans. Never been to the real deal before, but from what I've heard Eunice and MaMoo (don't know how to spell it) get pretty wild. I'm about to be extremely drunk for a week straight though. 😀

Endymion ball is always fun, I've been several times. Very different from some of the older Krewe's balls. Enjoy!

Endymion ball is always fun, I've been several times. Very different from some of the older Krewe's balls. Enjoy!

Thanks, I'll try and not get too drunk so I can take pics and watch out for incoming, 2 of them went to the Hospital last year with eye injuries from bags of beads hitting them sqaure in the head. :shocked:
 
Its awesome that it is coming so early this year! I already started drinkin to prepare for it.

Its Mamou. Go to Opelousas and party too, its 24 hours over there 😉

In fact, I think my coworkers are about to come back with our friday Daquiris and coors light :beer:

Yep, that's about it. You're hitting the dead part of the year. I guess you could catch an arena football game or visit the aquarium.

Bourbon street is always "open", but it probably won't be all that great.

 
ah i wish i had read this thread earlier
i had always known in 2005 MG will fall on feb 8, but stupid me thought that the parties start after, not before, which is a very stupid way of thinking
after my friend who lives in baton rouge informed me of my stupidity, it is now too late, all the parties have well started and this weekend til the tuesday of MG will be big parties and i am still in orange county with no flight ticket yet, ARGH !!!!
