quackagator and Nohr need to PM ASAP as they have pictures of the same flower

Are these usernames of the same person ?

It was a slow month for "art" photography for me. I took a few thousand snapshots and parties and reunions but nothing more than an attempt to get moderately decent shots of everyones' faces. I didn't even take one landscape or sunset photo (my two favorite subjects) this month. 😛

I guess I'll have to perform my civic duty by casting my vote for the most qualified candidate(s). 😉

Just a coincidence, don't send the camera police! 😛

Gah I didn't get a chance to take any pictures for this month's contest. 🙁

Go figure, I'm in art school and I'm going to be a photo minor and I can't even get out to take some decent pictures. 😛

voted.

jeez, looking at the black&white photos makes me realize so much what color adds to a photo, unless the luminance is the focus or the colors are ugly and need to be black&white to not be offensive, IMHO.

even though I didn't have multiple votes to vote for these photos, I feel that they are worth complimenting:
- Anything Goes 9 and Textures 8. I haven't tried any HDR photos yet, though I have seen a lot that I do not like. but these HDRs are very tastefully done. it's an appropriate subject to do it on, IMO.
- Textures 3. I didn't vote for this because I didn't think it fit the contest description as much as some of the others (artistic license is a valid reason/excuse, I know, but the viewer is also free to make their own judgements). I do like the composition, however. It's the type of photo that would like nice printed large on a wall: a good overall composition with lots of detail to key in on if you study it.

Some great stuff there, I'd go as far as to say the standard is as high as it's ever been in this comp 😎

It's supposed to be an anonymous competition 😛

EDIT: So you'll just have to wait a few days to find out...

Holy crap that HDR shot rocked my world. I wish I could put that as my desktop, but it's too small. 🙁

You guys should wait until the end of the month to do this 😛

Every time I go somewhere that will be good for this, it's after it's already over.

Ill change the "Photo must be taken between " so it starts the day after photos are due

To make it a little easier to track - mostly for my tired brain to remember - why not have each contest open from the first to the last day of each month? Photos are due on the last day of the month and voting is open for a few days after that. Meanwhile, people can be taking pictures for the next month (if they want to) while voting is still open for the previous month. This way pictures taken during the last few days of the month can still be used as contest entries for that month.

What makes more sense to me is to have next month's categories up at the same time as voting, and allow photos from that date to be used in the next 'month's' contest...That means there's no shooting gap for people.

EDIT: It's nobody's fault but your own if you're too lazy to miss a deadline, and moving it back a few days will make absolutely no difference in that regard 😉

That's what I meant to say, just move the end date/deadline to the last day of the month instead of several days before the end of the month.

I was thinking of submitting this one for the Black and White category but I didn't have anything else for the other two so I decided not to send it in. 😛
