I think the limitation most people are thinking about is projecting a large screen. By that I mean trying to project a 250" screen vs a 100" screen. A higher resolution like 1080p is quite an advantage at huge sizes, but the issue is that even in total darkness, the light is spread too thin to cover an image so big. Watching movies on my Infocus X1 was passable at 200-250" in the basement of my dorm building for movie night, but I wish it was brighter for such cases.

The thought of seeing Star Wars in 1080p at that size gives me shivers! I just hope they have a brighter 1080p model in a few years...
