Mapquest?

I used to use Yahoo Maps when I first started getting internet directions.... Then later I switched to MSN Maps because i could sync it with my PDA and not have to deal with printing. Then Google Maps just became so easy to use after they fixed up a bunch of stupid problems with one way streets in SF when they first started. Ever since they incorporated hybrid maps or even street view I see no reason to use anything else. Capabilities like detours or dragging the route to suite what you want is very intuitive.

Yet every time our organization has some event and someone distributes maps, I almost always find them giving me a Mapquest print out. Is Mapquest still that popular and I'm the few who just think Google maps is THE WAY to go?

Shrug. It's not so much that I LOVE Google so much, it's just that they have it all bundled together. I can go to their site for practically anything. I don't need a separate site for A or B or C or whatever, and Mapquest just presents itself as another site I need to remember.

Mapquest seems to have the worst interface of the biggest map sites (MQ, Google, Bing, and Yahoo). I tried Bing Maps earlier today and quite liked it; they have a "Birds'-Eye View" that is really nice.

None of them, however, have added the highway overpass next to my work that was opened fully one year ago. Mapquest has an aerial view of the overpass under construction at their second-closest zoom level, but the map itself is not correct. I wonder if this overpass will ever make it to any of them? I remember Google took several months to restore the collapsed 35W bridge after it reopened, whereas Mapquest only took a few days.

I haven't used mapquest in years.

when I'm going on a long trip, I might print out google maps just in case, but I primarily rely on my gps... the only thing I use googlemaps for on a regular basis is for getting rough estimates of travel time.

I used mapquest in the 90s, but haven't in a long time ...

I usually use Google maps though I am actually guilty of liking Microsoft's maps too ....

GPS in my car;
GPS in wife's car;
GPS on my iPhone.

The only thing I use online maps for is to get a general idea of how long the trip should take (or where some place I never heard of is located). When I do that, I use the search box (correct name?) in Safari which is set to Google, so, Google Maps.

I may also use StreetView to give me an idea of what the building looks like.
