need a little help here,
i am having a little trouble with a win 2000 pro computer with a shared drive. the other computers [win98] are attempting to log onto the mapped drive [win200 pro] on their start up and it seems that only a few computers are able to reach the mapped drive. the others are denied access.
thanks for any help you can provide.

See the FAQs on networking Win98 and W2K.

Basically, each Win98 user must logon with an ID and password that has also been created on the W2K box. In addition, the sharepoints they are trying to connect to, must grant those users some sort of rights to the share. (Read, Full Control, etc..)

hey thanks for the quick reply.
i am also wondering if the mapped drive requires each user to login with ID and password is there a maximum of connections to the mapped drive on the win2000 computer?
