MapMyRun.com - Good website for runners

For those of you runners out there - just found this today:

www.mapmyrun.com

Lets you map out the route you ran that day. Honestly - it's a pretty good tool - just mapped out some of the routes I've been running. Very handy if you don't have a GPS enabled watch or a foot pod for monitoring distance.

I'm a month and 8 days later than you, but I went on a run 2 days ago... I wanted to know how far I'd gone and did a search on google to find a good mapping tool that calculated distance. That's how I found it. I should have just searched on ATHF 😛

This is pretty good because it allows you to save the routes and even has some good runner forums when you register on the site. Apparently, this site has been known as 2 or 3 different ones and it has a decent following. They've added a lot of features and it's probably going to continue to get better.

Hah. Well glad you enjoy the site too. Nowadays I pretty much have a good idea how far I run (base it off time and my pace) but I still like using it to check. 🙂

Good site. For some reason it seems to use an older version of google's maps; it shows my street differently than the real google maps.

I found a site once that had proper elevations. Most of the running site mapping places, with elevation turned on, will only go from point a to b in a direct line, so if you have a mark before a hill and after, it will have no elevation as it draws a line between them. I cannot remember the site I used that properly used topography to calculate elevation.

It also has a pretty good calendar where you can log your workouts. Good way to keep track of your workouts and progress.
