Did they just stand outside of Buffalo Wild Wings in each state or something? Not buying that chart at all.

They sampled "5000" people. So that's 100 people per state.

Yeah, I wouldn't put too much stock in this survey as being definitive.

Yeah, my mom had mentioned that Blue Moon was top selling in Minnesota. I didn't believe her. I guess good for Inbev who owns it and Budweiser anyway.

Pretty sure Lone Star is the cheap beer of choice in Texas, but hey, what do I know after living here for 24 years?

Blue Moon is a Belgian White sold by Coors.... AB jumped on board with their version called "Shock Top" because Blue Moon had stolen so much of that market from the imports.

Yuengling is number 1 in my state (tennessee), but oddly, they haven't had distribution here that long....maybe 2006-2007 they finally started showing up here. I remember seeing Yuengling for the first time in 2003 in the DC area. I tried it and liked it ok....was cheaper than most other non light beers. The last time I threw a party, I ordered a keg from them and it was well received.

Maybe the rest of the state is different, but it sure seems like in my part of Indiana it's Miller lite.

Inbev also really markets Hoegaaarden.

I remember when I was in college, there was this Mexican bar that had Lone Star cans for $0.25. Their bathroom was literally a shit hole, but for that price, it can't be beat.

Never even heard of Blue Moon.
It is very similar to Sunshine, a citrusy wheaty beer. Very delicious especially when a shot of orange juice is added, also known as a Brass Monkey. Having worked at a liquor store in Colorado over the summer, Bud Lite flew out the door. Comparatively Blue Moon sales are miniscule. At least in six packs, the sales do not reflect the map. I couldn't believe how popular BL was. We'd go through a hundred cases of 24pk BL in less than a week. Singles and the tap at bars are a different story. BM is very popular outside of liquor stores.

What kind of retarded methodology did the pollsters use? To figure out the top beer, they relied on a poll, but then to figure out how much the average person drank, they compared the amount reported via the poll to the number of drinks actually sold. If they have access to the latter data, it makes the former poll completely pointless. Further, the average male is "buzzed" nearly 1 in every 3 days? I don't believe that for a moment. What'd they do? Exclusively poll college students?

We get it every time we float the river; since it's mostly water, it keeps us 'hydrated', lol.

I think they changed up the recipe a little while ago, which has made it drinkable.

Bud Light is cheap and viewed to be not quite as bad as the Beast or Natty Light. College kids eat that up. It is like American Eagle. It is an affordable designer brand just cool enough people eat it up.

Actual data: bud light sold 60 million more cases than the 2nd and 3rd best selling beers in the US: Coors Light & Budweiser. The beer with the 4th highest sales is Miller Lite, followed by Natural Light. Mathematically, it's very improbable that Blue Moon won a single state, especially states like NY. If that were the case, then bud light would have to win by an enormous margin in the other states to account for the actual difference in sales.

I believe 10000% it's true in Colorado. I've seen it

PS: I've only lived in CO and IN and both of them hate Bud light

Not a chance. If Colorado really hates Bud Light then the top beer there will be Coors Light or Miller Lite. Maybe Pabst. It damn sure won't be Blue Moon and Blue Moon won't outsell Bud Light. If they hate Bud then Bud Light will only outsell Blue Moon by 5-1 instead of 50-1.
