It's interesting the lack of deep space missions we thrown out there. There was in a rash in the 70s then he became very sparse.

OK noob question, but going by that map Venus looks closer and larger than the moon, why is it not as visable as the Moon?

Because the top portion of the picture is not to scale. The bottom is provided as a reference so you can make your own scale for the top portion.

Also, how long does it take to receive a signal from those Voyager satellites, or even from as close as the Moon?

The Voyager signals have faded, but it used to take several hours. It takes about 1.5 seconds for a signal from the moon to reach us (3 seconds round trip).

from the moon to earth = 1.3 seconds
from the heliopause to earth = 14.9 hours

my sister is married to an AH-64 Apache Pilot. after his first couple of night flights she asked him "when you fly at night, are the starts like...right there?"

he was speechless.
