Manually backing up Outlook

I have Win2k. 80% of my Winnt directory was recently deleted, but as far as I can tell the Program Files directory was untouched. I reinstalled Win2k to a different dirrectory (WINNT2) so I could gain access to the files that weren't shredded. How can I backup my MS Outlook data? Everywhere I look it tells me to export the data from within Outlook, but I don't have access to that; It won't let me start it w/o the proper registry entries. And I don't have the Office install disks at the moment. If I did have the setup disks, would reinstalling overwrite my old data? I know with Outlook Express you could save the mailboxes just by backing up the *.mbx files, but I want to back up everything. Thanks for any help.
