I never thought manual transmission could be this fun. I took a lesson this week to learn the basics.

Can I borrow your car to practice? I offer no garantee! :p

Edit: As kindly reported by an AToT user, jdini76 , "manual driving" is not correct. I stand corrected.

Not for me, the only reason I drive manuals is because they are cheaper. Im lazy and prefer autos.

Try learning manual in San Francisco and you'll be cursing like a sailor in no time.

Man that's the ABSOLUTE wrong reason to drive one. But seriously, is $500 really worth all the effort?

For the record I drive a manual by choice. Hell, I'd pay more for one vs. an auto.

What is manual driving. Is there such thing as automatic driving? Are you talking about manual transmission?

Everyone else seemed to figure out what he meant.

Manuals rock! It will be over my dead body before I drive a slushbox again. I don't worry about traffic because there really isn't any up in my neck of the woods, and I LOVE drifting and spinning in the snow... fun stuff!

The difference with tax, and interest was over $1000. So that and the fuel saved by driving a manual is worth it.

I prefer manuals over automatics. Feel like I have more control over the car. In fact my front brakes are shot and wont be fixed until Tuesday. With an automatice the rotors would be destroyed but with a manual I can downshift and rarely use my brakes.

What if I did? It was the wisest thing to do to learn. "Casual" people don't always know how to say what to do. It's the teacher's job to teach it. :)

but i'd rather replace brakes than parts for the transmission.
