214,000 miles .. last changed at 75,000 miles still running like a champ. Although, the second gear is starting to give some signs of deteriotation. Kinda surprise that it lasted this long considering I taught 4 people how to drive stick with this car on the replacement.

Replaced the clutch in my '83 Mazda RX7 at around 80k. Could probably have lasted longer but that was my first manual transmission so it endured some abuse early-on.

It saddens me that it's getting harder and harder to find trucks and SUVs with manual transmissions these days. I can't imagine driving in 4WD in the snow with an automatic. I want to be in control. :)

RX7 - I usually replace my clutch every 80k miles or so, one lasted near 100k miles. I drive pretty hard cause I like to have fun while I'm driving so I'm not easy on the clutch; lots of downshifting and not much breaking. I like to drive that way and replacing a clutch every 80k miles or so is worth it to me.

I knew a guy who had his clutch fried by 28,000 miles, the poor fool. It was a 2001 Passat. He insisted he was an exellent driver. I pointed out that an exellent driver is someone who puts 200-250K on a clutch, but he wouldn't admit he sucked. Man did he suck, too. If you rode with him you wouldn't be surprised he wore it out so fast.

Let me guess, he rides the clutch as if it was a bicycle.
