Seriously why would anyone want to put this woman or her buddies to death? I think the 40 years she's spent in prison, the brain cancer god gave her, the leg amputation, the various parole hearings where she was teased with the thought of freedom and then had it yanked away....much better punishment IMO.

I just don't have a lot of sympathy in me for a chick who cut an 8 1/2 month old fetus out of a pregnant woman, sorry. I'm actually a little pissed the state spent money performing brain surgery on her, but if it allowed her to live in hell for a few more months maybe it was worth it.

It's unfortunate that the state spent money on her surgery but at least she got to suffer a little more before she kicked the bucket.
 
As if God had anything to do with giving her brain cancer. I would say karma is a bitch more than anything. Gotta love the biblical revenge angle.

That being said, we are in complete agreement about one thing, she was evil and deserved to die.
 
i don't like to think that people who have cancer deserve it - it's random and sad.. But, yes, here is a case when life in prison was far more painful than the death penalty (and deserved).
 
I would rather not have paid for her 40 years of upkeep...

I have seen the cost comparisons of a death sentence, though...

Gotta love how well CA treats their prisoners. We hear about death panels & shit over the health care debate, but the reality is that incarcerated prisoners get better health care than millions of US citizens.
 
that's only because it takes us 20 years of appeals and legal process to actually execute anyone.

While I appreciate that we shouldn't be executing innocent people and thus the process is "necessary" so to speak, I think in cases where the cops show up and you've got a bloody knife in one hand and are gnawing down on a severed head, we can probably dispense with the appeal process and just shoot you on the scene.

What are bullets these days... .50c?

THIS F'ING BITCH that got off scott free for her testimony is another one that should BIH. She is an accessory to murder and she didn't spend any time in Jail. Gotta love lawyers...

well she was comparatively uninvolved, didn't actually kill anyone, prevented another murder by purposefully misleading the killers, and without her testimony it would have been a lot harder to convict the others, who did in fact all get life. All in all, this was a very good call by the prosecution. and after reading that entire wiki entry I don't feel a miscarriage of justice occurred.

just curious... what exactly do you propose the lawyers should have done, since you're so quick to criticize? Should the prosecution have proceeded without a witness, and risk letting everyone go free? Should her lawyer have just sat back and not try for a deal? I love the lawyer hate, but lets hear your better idea.
 
I am sure this was caused by her father spanking her when she was a child. Or at least the movie about her will show this.

I don't have the answer- but for her to get off completely free is BS. She was in a position to get away and alert authorities earlier and she did not. She has as much blood on her hands as any of the other followers.
