Your lack of faith is disturbing.

We need some positive energy, senor!

This team has some decent depth, hopefully Clark can step it up, or maybe Rickey can show us there's a reason he's been complaining about playing time.

The ship is not sunk, w/o Manny we spanked the M's last night. Manny is awesome, but he's only one guy out of 9 on the field.

Thank You! Finally, a believer......

the fact is, different guys have been stepping up at different times... this equates to depth. Although Manny was leading the AL in batting and had 35 RBI's (gulp), we'll have to find a way to keep producing runs.

Anyone hear of any initial roster moves? I heard they were going to look in-house first, then outside somewhere, but have not heard of who yet

..find a way to produce runs"

Time to pretend you're the Dodgers (last in majors in HR's) or the Marlins (1st in majors in fielding %). You have to play "small ball"
get on base!!!!!!!!!!! (be patient, get a walk)
sac
timely hit= run.
Then pitch (we have been doing that)
Play defense (better this year, but room for improvement)

Damon and (gulp) Henderson have to get on base. Clark at least has to be selective at the plate. Ideally, he could go on one of his patented tears right now where he hits 12-14 homers in a month..but..
the future until Manny gets back lies on Daubach, Varitek and Nixon. They get even lukewarm (like 'Tek hit 3 doubles last night) we will be fine. Daubach stays cold, DH Clark and play Offerman at 1st, he is hitting .300, and fields better at 1st than at 2nd.
If they are plus or minus 1 or 2 games on the Yanks when Manny gets back, we will have survived losing one of our best players.
Wonder how they would play losing Jeter, Mussina and Posada like we lost Nomar, Pedro and Varitek last year.....

Manny's injury is pretty much his own fault... it wasn't like a freak accident or anything. Head first into home? just asking for something bad to happen

I just proposed a trade to get rid of him in my fantasy league. I hope the other guy falls for it!

Manny has been sliding head first into bases whenever he slid into first base last year.

Very scary, and this could have been a lot worse. Makes sense to slide into 2nd and 3rd head first, but not first and home.

I have a feeling the Sox will pick up the slack and move forward.

Hey, after last year it can only get better right? ;)

Go Sox!
