Ladies and Gentlemen of AnandTech,

I am asking for your support in the creation of a Manners Moderator. The personal attacks, ad-homs, and mono-a-mono flame wars on these forums have reached a critical level. We need a special mod to send out a warning to members who do not show their peers a little bit of decency. If they do not comply they should be banned.

There will be no escape from the Manners Mod. 😀
 
Depends, since philosophies on it differ. Many claim that one must "be the bigger person" when faced with a pimple-farming, name-calling teenager, but I feel that speaking to them in their own language is a better means of communicating, since they generally don't understand much else. In other words, I'd be all for it if care were taken to determine who took the crucial step from a debate/discussion into personal attacks/flames, and discipline only that person.
