Cool correction...How to you correct for the purple fringing? I have some pics I would like to remove it from.

(don't tell me to search for it!)

This is the quick and dirty method, as you can see there's still some purple fringing and I didn't really take care of the red chromatic aberration since I liked the effect it had.

Anyhow, use a masked hue/saturation adjustment layer. Select magenta and use the eye dropper to center the right hue and desaturate as much as you feel necessary; in this case, I also reduced the lightness a bit.

Now use the mask to select only the areas that you want desaturated, so that you don't lose the legitimate purple hues in the image. I usually use a fairly small brush with ~50% opacity and ~75% flow, but this is highly variable to the image. Experiment with brushes to see what works best.

As for the rest, if you're interested, I adjusted the curves a bit so that that image would be slightly more punchy (especially given that all the extreme highlights were blown anyway.

I also fixed the weird reflection near the moon.

Finally, a quick USM makes the image look just a touch sharper. :)

 for saying NYC in your profile.

Edit: ElFenix is right, got my directions crossed.

Maybe he works there.

I work on Wall street. I'm guessing the o/p is one of those "im so much better because i live in new york" tools... apparently it's a big new york thing to infer their superiority based on what side of the river you're on

Halik, great pic. I am not going to over analyze your photography skills or criticize where you live. Imagine that...

I prefer the non-crowded, non-light polluted view from my cabin. City scapes are cool though.

What a fantastic view!

I had a similar view where I used to live and work... its a smaller river (Lee Vining Creek actually...), and not quite as many buildings on the skyline...

well we can trade ... im trying to find a place downtown by sept 30th. My lease here ends and I'm fed up with PATH after hours/weekends. The commute turns into 45-50 mins when there's no direct trains

I didn't mean to sound haughty, but as a NYer it is in my blood to hate NJ. The sight of a yellow license plate simultaneously angers me and makes me fear for my life. :p
It is a nice shot though (especially the correction)
