Gah, purple fringes everywhere. Time to upgrade your glass (and maybe reduce the exposure a bit). I'd run that through photoshop to clean up that chromatic aberration 🙂.

heh I wasn't gonna swap the good FD lenses that I've got... the 18-55 kit lens is pretty bad in the extremes

You don't live in NYC, you live in New Jersey. Right in the middle is World Financial Center (on the West Side) and the green topped building 1/3 from the left is the Woolworth building, which means you're facing east, which means you're looking in from New Jersey.
