Sad to hear, but at least they provide a stable OS unlike MS. That explains the lack of tech support calls.

I've not had any problems with my Windows XP installations.

Worst Case scenario...all Mandrake's good stuff will be folded into other distro's or product offerings.

Companies may die but open source will live on.

Ameesh is the type to kick the guy down on his luck and further his own personal gain. In otherwords, a bully :) Linux isn't going away anytime soon, Mandrake was only one of the many distros and open source will keep going strong.

OTOH, Microsoft has so much cash in its coffers it is having a hard time finding a proper investment, according to the latest article in Worth magazine. Gates may actually have to release a dividend to his shareholders even though that means double taxation and Gates hates dividends. If you had $40 billion in cash rotting at low interest, what would you do with it?

Microsoft goes Open Source too

They allowed companies and governments to purchase licenses for their source code for a while now. That does not make it open source, and definitely not free software.

Their definition of the word free includes too many restrictions. Most Americans dont understand anymore.
