mandrake and xp pro dual boot question

I read the faq's but didn't see anything specific to this. I was just wondering whats the best way to do this.
I've already did a dual boot with win 98se and it went ok. Except i have a winmodem on that machine and i
still can't find drivers for it . Anyway i was wondering what would be the best way to partion the drive. I have
xp on it already. Should i just let it install on its own ( thats what i did on my 98 machine)? I think it just
installed its own boot loader so i can switch between which os i want to use. All I want to do is just split the
drive in half for each os. I got a 40 gig drive. I'm using the ntfs file system i didn't know if that would cause
any problems.
Any input would be appreciated.

Well when i put xp on that drive i just created one big partition. I think when i did my 98 rig it has a prog on
mandrake to let me change my partitions. I think does anybody else know i forget. It's been a while since
I done it.

You'd have to leave some unpartitioned free space to install linux on or maybe partition magic will let you resize that partition without losing your info.

I got partition magic i'll have to try that. I just hope i won't lose any data on my drive. I was thinkin mandrake
let me resize my partition in my 98 machine? I forget though. Does anybody know if it will let me do that?

I just used Partition Magic to resize my NTFS partition and make Linux partitions...

Going to install Mandrake now hopefully it will work.

I would try Partition Magic if you have it.
